Arty Stuff

Is it just me or are more and more nudist works making there way into the Daily Deviations. I don't mind so much, it just strikes me as strange for a category people like to whine about so much.

=LeoLeonardo closed his project =(

Not to worry, I'm sure there will be another. In the mean time I have my own project to amuse myself with :evillaugh:
I'm not going to open it up to everyone, simply because nowhere near enough people would see it for it to work, but rather I'm just going to do it by myself. Maybe in the future once I have a substantial amount of it done I might consider it. Do a news article for it or something like that =P

No details for now, just know that its inspiration comes from a goofy looking childhood storybook character who frustrated millions of people for hours on end, page after page. I hope I'm good enough to create something similar to the crazy shenanigans that took place around him all the time =P

Featured Deviations

I love this comic. If you haven't already you really ought to go check it out. You can find links to it from the deviation.

I really like the atmosphere of this one. It reminds me of somewhere I've been, when I was younger. I just can't place my finger on it.

A couple of more deviations coming yet. It's soooo much harder than I thought it was featuring things =P Stay tuned.

I'm a bit disturbed not by the increasing amount of nudist pictures in the DD-category, since I rarely remember to check the daily deviations for the day, but rather disturbed by the nudist pictures on the front page - it just... annoys me a bit.

Since they changed the popularity system, it's gotten much more difficult to find good art on this page, AND more naked ladies end up on the front page.

Hopefully things will be a little better with version 6, that's not too far away now, and from what I can tell the front page is a little more customizable.

Yes. At least with a subscription.

But it's still difficult to search for something and not end up with completely disgusting pictures, and all the bad photographs, on the first page of your search.

I don't think there is a lot you can do about that. Other than chasing a whole bunch of people away from dA, which I don't think would be a good thing.

Otherwise you could always test you ninja skills and go around stealthily forking everyone :fork:

=P

Or change back the popularity system ;_; Or change it again. Sure, there are some benefits with this one as well, it's not entirely bullshit, but I liked the other one better - the one where it was easy to find good art.

I see what you mean. I like the idea behind the new one though, I'm all for the fairness across the board approach. I think maybe we need a mix between the two. Maybe if deviants could chose what categories were displayed on their frontpage or something =P

Yes! That would be better. Or at least, chose the ones they -don't- like displayed. Like all the subcategories of Photography, for instance. All those subcategories makes photography vastly overrepresented...

That's true I guess. I never really paid much attention. I don't mind photography though.
